Type I Error

A Type I Error is a type of incorrect moderation decision made by content moderators. Type I errors are those which incorrectly classify something which is harmful as safe, wrongly allowing it onto the site. Another way of saying Type I error is “false negative”.

Everise content moderators consistently achieve client-assigned accuracy rates of 98-99% even when judging complex content submission types, such as job postings and product reviews.

It is the goal of outsourced user-generated content moderators at Everise to eliminate both Type I and Type II errors, the opposite of which are “true positives” and “true negatives” — meaning, correctly blocking all harmful content from the client platform and correctly allowing all safe content onto the platform, respectively.
