What do you mean by “smart home” technology?
Smart home is a term referring to connected devices designed to automate functions associated with home life. These typically allow for remote control or monitoring of the home’s state, as well as AI-powered optimization based on factors bearing upon the device’s utility, such as occupancy, weather or preferences, whether perceived by the device’s observations or stated explicitly. This technology, as a subset of the Internet of Things, provides a home’s occupants with enhanced security, comfort, convenience and energy efficiency. They are usually interfaced with via mobile app, or a limited hardware user interface.
