Value-Added Service (VAS)

What does “value added service (VAS)” mean?

Value added service (VAS) is a business term which means a feature that can be added on top of a core product. Companies use VAS to help enhance the overall experience of any user or customer. Although VAS is often offered as a premium add-on to an existing product, it can operate as a standalone service. Businesses use VAS to increase the demand for core products or services. They are not intended to completely change or diversify the functionality of the core product, but to improve the operational and administrative synergy of it.

It is believed that VAS provide great advantages to both customers and providers, as they don’t only add value to the functionality for the end user, but also provide data and analytics companies could use.
